Dancey was captured on video appearing to evade a discussion about immigration.

As a fellow Labour activist spoke about the contributions of immigrants, Dancey, who had been engrossed in his phone, quickly waved and moved to the next house.

The footage gained attention after GB News host Darren Grimes highlighted it, accusing Dancey of ‘scarpering faster than a whippet out of the traps at the first whiff of a question about immigration’.

He added: ‘Labour’s politicians are too high and mighty to even entertain a chat on the topic. Sneering contempt for us’.

His partner Wesley Paul William Streeting, currently the Shadow Health Secretary, has had a markedly different path from many of his peers.

He was raised in London’s East End on a council estate by a single mother who often had to pawn her jewelry to make ends meet.

Streeting’s grandfather, Bill, was a Royal Navy WWII veteran and notorious bank robber who associated with the infamous Kray twins.

His grandmother, Libby, became entangled in Bill’s criminal activities and even shared a prison cell with Christine Keeler, the model central to the Profumo Affair.

Since 2015, Streeting has represented Ilford South.

He secured his seat in the 2024 General Election after a tight contest with independent candidate Leanne Mohammed.
