Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after an alleged physical fight with his bodyguard and confrontation with a security guard in the early hours of Friday morning local time, multiple outlets reported.

Key Facts

Police were called to the George V hotel, a Four Seasons property where rooms cost roughly $2,000 per night, after Scott was involved in an altercation with one of the hotel’s security guards.

The guard had stepped in to break up a fight between the rapper and his personal bodyguard, reports said, and a local radio station reported Scott was drunk and refusing to cooperate with police.

He was then arrested and no updates were immediately available on if he remains in police custody.

Representatives for Scott did not immediately respond to Forbes’ request for comment Friday.

Key Background

Scott is currently on his global Circus Maximus Tour but was in Paris as a spectator for the 2024 Olympics. Hours before he was arrested, he attended the semi-finals of the men’s basketball competition and saw the French team beat Germany. He was reportedly chased by paparazzi leaving the event. The arrest comes just months after a similar incident in Miami Beach led to Scott’s arrest following an altercation with the crew of a charter yacht. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing for allegedly berating the crew, leaving the marina and then coming back a second time and refusing to leave. Scott later told police he’d been drinking alcohol and allegedly said “It’s Miami” to explain his behavior. Scott’s criminal record also includes two arrests on charges related to inciting a crowd in 2015 and 2017, where he allegedly encouraged fans to jump barriers and overrun security at two concerts.
