Ordering a hot, sizzling plate of delicious fajitas during someone’s birthday party is a big no-no these days – but not everyone agrees.

Several people have taken to TikTok to share their serious beef with friends ordering the delicious, sizzling entrée during other people’s birthday celebrations.

‘If you want to know who you’re real friends are, going to a Tex-Mex or Mexican cuisine restaurant for your birthday dinner and see who the f**k orders fajitas,’ a man who goes by jianniversacee on TikTok said.

‘Any b**ch ordering fajitas on your birthday does not love you.’

Asha David agreed, saying she’d rather have her friend ‘show up late than order fajitas at my birthday dinner.’

‘My biggest pet peeve is people ordering fajitas at birthday dinners,’ she said in a TikTok. ‘I think it’s one of the most disrespectful things you could do at someone’s birthday dinner.’

David said employees bringing out fajitas make a big show of telling customers the plate is hot and it’s typically brought out before anyone else’s dinners, causing all the attention to be on the person who ordered it.

‘They’re already sizzling, that’s enough,’ she said. ‘They just do the most for fajita orders.’

However, not everyone agrees with the commentary, with many saying it’s an insecurity issue, rather than an upstaging issue.

‘If them fajitas outshining you then it was never your day,’ Draya Monet wrote under David’s video.

'If you're afraid of being upstaged by some fried peppers and onions, then I'm so sorry to tell you, but there's a much larger issue that needs to be addressed,' a New York City-based TikToker (pictured) said

Another creator,  Anthony, said in a separate video: ‘Why are you guys mad people are ordering fajitas on your birthday? A lot of you people are very insecure.’

One commenter, named Emily, said it had ‘never crossed my mind’ to worry about ordering fajitas, but she ‘gets it.’

A commenter wrote under David’s post: ‘If fajitas are outshining you, you were never that girl. Sorry, not sorry.’

One user wrote: ‘I’m so glad my friends are cool! Cause honey, if my friend called me the next day upset cause I ordered fajitas, I’m going to laffff so hard.’

However, some people agreed that the sizzling hot food was too much to order if you’re not the guest of honor.

A user wrote: ‘Yea, because the extravaganza should be reserved for [the] birthday person. Only MY plate should sizzle and entice.’

One person, who claimed to be a server, confirmed David’s fear that it’s all for show, writing: ‘As a server, we can’t let fajitas die in the window. So we take them out first. We know [people] order them for attention that’s why we make it a deal.’
