The most popular jobs this year have included TikTok presenter and working as a historic character at a theme park.

A study by jobs site CV-Library showed that adverts for data management officers were the most searched by jobseekers.

Adverts for a historic character in a theme park and emergency call handler are also in demand.

But the more traditional dream jobs aren’t completely dead, with being a train conductor still making the list.

Coming in as the fourth most popular is confusingly the role of ‘CCTV Controller’.

Unsurprisingly, the dream of becoming the head of Social Sustainability is also on the list, likely searched for by Gen Z.

However, the top spot is taken by the more mundane role of ‘Data Management Officer’.

TikTok presenters also attracted a lot of interest as more brands look to leverage the platform to grow audiences and sell products, said the report.

CV-Library analysed over 900,000 jobs advertised on its platform since January 2024, revealing the most sought after jobs based on postings with the highest number of job seeker views.

Lee Biggins, chief executive of CV-Library, said: ‘Forget a dream job as a doctor, teacher or vet, the most popular jobs of 2024 include working in theme parks, as TikTok presenters, or on trains.

‘Brits are also keen to make a difference, with emergency call handlers and social sustainability roles also high up the wish list, demonstrating that job seekers are looking for more than just money in 2024.

‘For employers looking to stand out, creating a fun and supportive work environment and having a clear company mission will help you pass the popularity test with candidates.’

It’s Instincts Over Strategy for Trump

When Donald Trump held a news conference last week, ostensibly to hit Vice President Kamala Harris for not yet having held one of her own, he said something revealing about how her sudden climb up the Democratic ticket had shaped his own campaign for the presidency — or not. “I haven’t recalibrated strategy at all,”
